How do I choose the format for my prototype elements?

Observe the games in your collection, measure the formats you like, and adapt your game to your preferences. The possibilities are endless! And if you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask us directly via conception@azaoprint.com or through the "Contact us" page. We will respond to you as soon as possible.

The colors on the physical prototype are not the same as on my screen.

This is perfectly normal because a screen does not render colors the same way a printer does. A printer needs four color layers (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) to do its job, whereas a screen combines shades of three colored lights (red, green, and blue). This difference means that the result you see on screen will never be exactly the same as the physical result. Furthermore, no two screens have the same color calibration, just as one printing machine will not interpret color profiles in the same way as another. However, please be assured that we naturally use all our expertise to ensure there is as little difference as possible between the screen and the physical product.

I am seeing lines and frames appearing on certain elements of the proof, even though this did not happen when I created my files.

Transitioning from one software program to another is not always without its quirks. Compatibility issues can arise; sometimes it will be a file that hasn't been flattened, other times it will be a color profile issue. In 99% of cases, these lines never appear in the print. But even if there is only a 1% chance of it happening, we are always 100% attentive and will contact you with different solutions if it does occur.

I do not understand all the annotations on the proof you sent me.

Not all of this information is intended directly for you (the registration marks for our cutting machines, for example). However, other elements may be useful for tracking production. For instance, the format of your items or the quantity indications on the print sheets ("per X" in red), etc. We therefore suggest you pay close attention to them, as this proof is what we will actually print. If we leave an error (as it can happen) visible on the proof and you approve it without having noticed it, Azao Games cannot be held responsible.

How can I make your work easier?

Always be as clear and detailed as possible in your order instructions. The more you are, the less we will need to go back and forth via email. This will save us all time and make our collaboration all the more pleasant.
Also, pay attention to how you name and organize your print files. Since we are detached from the development of your game, we can only base our work on what you send us. And while certain ways of organizing files may seem relevant to you as an author, they may be a source of confusion for us.

How do I create a multi-page PDF?

If you use the Adobe suite, Illustrator offers an artboard system that allows for the creation of multi-page PDFs. For this program, one artboard equals one PDF page. You simply need to create as many artboards as you need and place your images on them.
In other programs, you may not have this option (notably Inkscape). However, you can always check your PDF reader program (Acrobat, PDF-Xchange, Foxit…), as it likely offers a way to combine several PDFs into one.

On the proof for the cards, the reading orientation of the front and back are inverted. Why?

Simply because that is the only way we can print double-sided. If you take an A4 sheet in landscape orientation, make a dot on the left side of the front of the sheet, and flip it over the short edge, the back of your dot will be on the right side of the page.

The front and back of my product look misaligned, why?

No machine is perfect, and sometimes a very slight misalignment between the front and the back can occur. We always do our utmost to avoid this, but we allow for a maximum misalignment margin of one to two millimeters.
